Dream-like state of mind.

You know those weeks when tasks seem to pile up faster than you can complete them? Thats been me for the last two weeks, I'll be half-way through something then suddenly remember 5 more things I need to do. It started to seem a little impossible that I would ever complete anything. Yet, in these situations all you need to do is step back and take a break - and thats exactly what this outfit is to me.

Yesterday, I decided it was time to take a break from all the daily stresses. This Alice McCall jumpsuit feels so dreamy and care-free, it was just what I needed. I spent my morning sipping green tea and relaxing on the couch before heading off to work. It was wonderful while it lasted.

If you remember this post, you probably already know what I'm talking about. A couple of weeks ago I experienced the worst day of my life (exaggeration intended) but now the dress is white again and I have a beautiful new pair of sneakers in my possession. Oh, happy days are here to stay! I present to you, the newest addition in my wardrobe, Isabel Marant's Betty sneaker. 

I've been way too excited to show you these babies ever since they arrived on my doorstep. I must admit I've been wearing these every chance I get - around the house, down to the corner store, even lying in bed blogging. I'm not sure if I'm just lovestruck or if these sneakers really do go with everything, either way I think my Prada Brogues have found themselves a worthy opponent.

Lately, I'm really into dressing for comfort - I'm not sure if my style is evolving or if this heat is taking it's toll. I love this outfit, so much so that I may or may not have become a repeat outfit offender. It's just so easy and comfy and it works.

The Return.

So I've been a little slack at announcing the winner of my giveaway, but working eight days straight really does take it out of you. I thought I'd pop in quickly to share some happy news..

LOOK WHAT IS WHITE AGAIN!

Now that I'm back to a normal(ish) work schedule I can get back into the routine of regular posting. I have some great new outfits to show you as well as a whole 'Back to School' thing (as Uni goes back this coming monday). Oh, not to mention the exciting package that arrived on my doorstep the other day, can't wait to show you!

Deep sea blues - new in.

I got this beautiful silk dress at the end of last month when I fell in love with the swirling blues and greens in the water-coloured fabric. As I've been working flat-out, I haven't had a proper chance to wear it but I couldn't resist showing it to you. You'll see this baby featured in an outfit post, coming soon!

Shakuhachi Winter '12.

I try to keep this blog interesting for you by staying away from posting editorials and collections - as we all know how over-blogged they can get. Yes, before you say anything, I know that this collection has been blogged to death but I just couldn't resist!

Shakuhachi is an Australian label who never cease to amaze me. I really love this seasons minimalistic vibe, which is accentuated by the colour palette, cut and use of different fabrics as well as patterns. Shakuhachi has delivered clothes perfectly suited to an Australian winter where it never gets cold enough to wear a proper coat (where I live it rarely ever gets cold enough to even wear a sweater). 

I can't wait to get my hands on any, or all, of these items - especially those white flat-forms, patterned pants, gold brogues, tailored sweat pants and the maroon leather dress (okay, so I really do want everything).

Summer heat.

Yesterday, like the last couple of days, was just too hot to be productive. Almost all I accomplished was taking my dress to the dry cleaners (who I hope can work their magic and make it white again). To prevent melting in the summer heat I needed an easy/breezy outfit.

I wore:

Sunglasses - Drug store

Blouse - belongs to my Mother

Skirt - Ask Grace

Sneakers - Converse

When wearing this outfit I kind of felt like I belonged on a Country Club tennis court with a cashmere sweater tied around my shoulders (keep in mind, all my knowledge of Country Clubs come from television shows like The O.C. and Gossip Girl). However snooty this outfit feels, treasure it as this will be the first and last time that you will see me in head-to-toe black and white. The mere thought of an outfit lacking colour and dimension makes me shudder, thus the orange nails and sunglasses.

I did a bad thing..

Yesterday was a horrible day.

Among other things, I accidentally dyed my beautiful new/WHITE Shakuhachi dress RED. I cried a little bit. The disaster of a dress is off to the dry cleaners today to see if the damage is reversible, fingers crossed ladies (and gents)!

I was so upset about the dress that I went and bought a pair of these..

..and I don't regret it, not one little bit.

Hopefully they will arrive on my doorstep very soon!

Again, I do apologise for having crappy posts of late. My poor foot is making progress and I can now painfully shove it into a shoe (!!YAY!!), so if you're lucky I'll have an outfit post for you soon :)
