January recap.

Wow, it's been a hectic week - and not in a good way. I've been a busy bee, working two jobs and partying too hard (not to mention the broken foot incident). Therefore, this here blog looks like a child of neglect - for that I apologise.

Due to the fact that I can barely shove my foot into a shoe, let alone walk to my closet, sadly I do not have an outfit post for you. What I do have, however, is a little recap of my favourite outfit posts from this past month. Enjoy.

I guess this concludes the month of January, this year is going way too fast already. Stay tuned for the month of February as I have lots of new (and old) things to show you. I am also having a huge wardrobe clear-out and will post a few things on here for you guys to snatch up. See you in February!

One last thing, what do you guys think of Isabel Marant's sneakers - seen here and here? I've been lusting over these babies for a while, yet I can't seem to decide if they are worth it so I turn to, you, my readers;
1. Would you like to see me rocking these babies?
2. Which do you like better Willow or Betty?

Don't forget to enter my giveaway, here. It has been extended and will now end Friday 3rd February at 10:00 AM AEST.

90's grunge.

I love a blogger who can do a great 'grunge' look. Although I've always adored the style, I never really thought I had the correct attitude to pull off the edgy vibe - probably because I use words like 'adore'. From reading my blog, you'll know that my style is usually clean and slightly girly, yet I can't seem to resist the charms of stomping boots and torn jeans. Being a child of that era, 1990's grunge is a look that will always own a slice of my heart.
This is my take on 1990's grunge.

My '90's Grunge' look is comprised of;
Leather Cap - Vintage
Silk Maxi - Sass & Bide
Silk "flannie" Blouse - Vintage
Boots - Doc Marten

I must have been in a shopping mood, in the past week, as I purchased almost everything I saw. Which is both bad and good. Bad, because.. well, I think my bank account may be in the negatives. Good, because I have lots of pretty new things to show you in up-coming outfit posts.

P.S. Don't forget to enter my Giveaway, which I've decided to extend for another week.

Stop - Harem time!

Yesterday, after my weekly Sunday nap, I was struck by a wave of inspiration. Dreaming about all the beautiful prints that we saw on the Spring/Summer runways, I woke up with a hankering for some florals.
I got a little creative with this look - if you hadn't already noticed, those make-shift harem pants are actually a floral blouse. Everything is vintage except for the shoes which I got for $5 on our recent trip. I'm not sure I would actually wear this out in public, but it was definitely fun to play around with! What do you guys think, would you rock this look?

Nameless wonder.

I was super bored the other day and just wanted to get out of the house, so I did what any girl would do - I went shopping, op shopping! Originally I wasn't going to show you this outfit but reading a request from one of my lovely followers changed my mind.
The sunglasses, bag and shorts are vintage. The blouse is from Ally, ribs swimsuit from Black Milk, necklace from equip and the creepers are Prada.

I've got some awesome new additions to my wardrobe that I'm just dying to show you, so stay tuned for those coming up in the next week. Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway.

GIVEAWAY!

Since I have had an influx of wonderful new followers in the past month, I wanted to find a way to say thank you. For dedicating your time and leaving such inspiring comments, I have decided that it is time for me to give something back. I thought long and hard and finally concluded that a giveaway is in order.

From reading my posts you will know that I'm crazy for vintage clothing/accessories, so I figured a vintage item would be ideal for me to give to you. When I came across this blouse in an op shop I fell completely in love with it and decided that it would make a perfect giveaway. I really hope you love it as much as I do.

This blouse is a beautiful, 100% silk creation from New Zealand designer P.A.M. This one-of-a-kind blouse has an incredible print and a unique design and would look ideal with any item in your wardrobe. The size on the tag says S, so it will fit anywhere from a size 6 to a size 10 (Australian sizing).

To make this wonderful blouse your own, you must follow these easy steps:
1. Make sure you are following my blog here and here.
2. Leave a comment below with your name, a link to your blog (or email address) and a suggestion of what posts you'd like to see more of.
3. You will receive 2 entries should you mention my blog in your next post (if you choose to do so, please let me know below).

Entries will close on Friday 3rd of February at 10:00 AM AEST.
I wish you all the best of luck!

Favourites - Basics.

It's been a while since I've done a favourites post, you'll probably remember the previous posts here and here. I've finally got a new one for you, so without further ado I present to you: Back to Basics.

This post consists of my wardrobe staples that I fall back on when in a rush or feeling lazy/uninspired. We don't really get seasons where I live, it's mostly Summer all year round (which is not as good as it sounds), so these basics are appropriate for all times of the year.
These are the most basic of the basics. Nothing is more simple than a slouchy grey T and straight denim skirt. The denim jacket is for cooler days or if I'm feeling in need of a 'Double Denim' day. The t-shirt was stolen from my boyfriend, the skirt is Wrangler and the denim jacket is vintage.
If you know me at all you'll understand that I cannot leave the house without a little colour in my outfit. The floral sunglasses and boots really add an aspect of fun to an otherwise bland ensemble. I found the sunglasses for a bargain of $15 on our recent holiday. The boots are vintage Doc Martens which I found on ebay four or five years ago, we've been inseparable ever since.

As much as I love the slouchy/casual look, I really am a sucker for collared blouses and tailored shorts. These items are on high rotation in my wardrobe, I wear them at least once a week and still can't get enough. The nude blouse is from Portmans and the blue one from Ally, the leather shorts and white jumper are both vintage.
These Prada Creepers are my go to shoes, not only are they incredibly comfortable but they seem to go with everything I own - I think I fall in love with these babies a little more each day. The sunglasses are Le Specs which I also bought on our recent trip, I think I'm at the beginning of a very large/dangerous sunglass obsession.

Keep a look out over the next few days as I have an exciting giveaway coming up!

Awards.

In this last week I have been the lucky recipient of two awards. I never knew such a thing existed in the blogging world until I received them, but I am ever so grateful to be a part of it.

The first award is the Kreativ Blogger Award, presented to me by GvN - Style Blog.
To properly receive this award I must answer a few questions about myself, here goes..

1. Name your favourite song - I don't really have a favourite song at the moment. Right now I'm completely in love with Lana Del Rey, she has
the most enchanting voice.
2. Name your favorite dessert - My Grandmothers cheesecake! It is the most heavenly thing I have ever tasted, I would live off it if given the chance. Though, I am so sad she rarely makes it anymore.
3. What ticks me off - Disrespectful and rude people. Also, people who take the easy way out.
4. When I'm upset I... Cuddle my beautiful Boarder Collie puppy, and if I'm upset at him I'll still cuddle him anyway.
5. What's your favorite pet... My puppy, Ollie, he is the most beautiful creature. I'll have to show you some pictures sometime.
6. Black or White... Uhh.. depends what mood I'm in, really loving white at the moment though (in reference to clothing).
7. Biggest Fear... Turning into my mother, I love her, but she has the most frustrating way of speaking. I can already feel it happening to me.
8. Everyday Attitude... Generally the evens that unfold within a two hour time-frame of waking up will dictate my attitude/mood for the rest of the day - which can be a good thing and a bad thing.
9. What is perfection? Imperfection :)
10. Guilty Pleasure... Op shopping! I have an addiction, I spend so much time and money trawling through the vintage racks, though I don't think I'll ever stop. It's such a rush when you find the perfect item.

Seven Random Facts About Me:
1. I'm a health nut.
2. My favourite font is Helvetica.
3. I love stalking people on Facebook.
4. I get along better with guys than girls.
5. I am fascinated by genetics.
6. When I find a blog I like I sit for ages trawling through their archives.
7. I'm crazy about spelling, grammar and punctuation.
8. I'm actually fairly shy when meeting new people.
9. I really enjoy planning things.
10. I need a bigger wardrobe.

Devil takes care of his own.

On our way home from our recent holiday, my partner and I stopped in at the family beach house where this beautiful window and dress reside. Unable to resist, we conducted this impromptu shoot.
When I was younger, my cousins and I, would come to the beach house and play dress ups with Grandma's amazing dresses. I'm so glad this vintage ball gown evaded the grubby finger stains and childhood under-appreciation as it has now made its way into my personal collection.

Vintage Chanel.

This outfit is from the last day of our holiday, I saved it for last as it is one of my favourites (or shall I say it contains one of my favourite pieces).
Those pants are vintage Chanel which I picked up for an absolute bargain from a vintage store in my hometown. Although I'm afraid to wear these (for fear of ruining them), these pants are one of my favourite wardrobe items.

I wore a vintage necklace, bodysuit from Black Milk, vintage Chanel pants and $5 sandals which I had purchased the day before.

P.S. Make sure to check back tomorrow because I have an amazing surprise for you ;)

Cathedral.

Just another quick post from our amazing holiday. Today we went shopping, I didn't really get much apart from multiple pairs of shoes and sunglasses which I will show to you in another post. We check out tomorrow and I really don't want to come home, do you think they'd let me stay if I washed dishes or something?
This is just me playing around with the camera on the way to the shops.

After spending all night in a freezing hotel room then coming outside into the hot sun and humidity, we hadn't realised that the camera lens was fogged up when taking outfit photos. Most of the photo's below are re-takes as the original photos were annoyingly unusable.
A close up of my amazing Black Milk skirt which I received as a Christmas gift from my incredible man. If you remember this post you'll know I've been a fan of Black Milk for a while now, and if not I definitely urge you to check out their website NOW.
I wore vintage sunglasses, vintage necklace, blouse from Ally, Black Milk skirt, ASOS cuffs, Vintage bag and Prada creepers (I'm completely smitten with these creepers and you will only see more and more of them in posts to come).

Sadly, I'll be home and in my own bed tomorrow night. At least I will have a decent internet connection to share some of my holiday snaps with you!
Happy Wednesday!

Holidays!

I am writing this post from a hotel bed in far North Queensland  as my partner and I came north for a few days of well deserved rest and relaxation. Tonight we went on a sunset cruise and had a wonderful dinner, here's a quick photograph of what I wore.
The photo isn't great quality, but due to crappy internet it's all I can provide. I wore Portmans blouse, Cooper St blazer, vintage leather pants, ASOS cuffs, vintage clutch, Novo heels and a necklace from Equip.

Tomorrow we are headed to the shops before spending the rest of our day in the pool. I can't wait to check out the local op shops and grab a couple bargains.
Happy Tuesday!!

Sequins and denim.

Lately I have really been loving the 'casual' look that most bloggers have been adopting. The trend on it's own is wonderful but it's just not me, I had to dress it up a little - enter sequins. I really do love all things that sparkle, nothing completes an outfit better than a big slab of shimmery goodness. Thus, I present to you an outfit that is slob on the top and party on the bottom.
I'm wearing vintage sunglasses (shown here), t-shirt that is property of my man, vintage jacket, necklace from Etsy, sequin skirt by Mika and Gala, vintage bag/scarf (shown here) and the boots are Dr Marten.

This post is a little later than expected (sorry) as I had a crazy, busy day at work then came home to host a BBQ. Tomorrow I'll have a post for you about a new and exciting project I'm starting and the day after I am going on a holiday, yay!
So how was everybody's weekend?
